Telia Company confirmed it is in talks to buy Bonnier’s broadcasting businesses.

As Telia Company has previously stated, content is an important part of the company’s future strategy and we continuously investigate possibilities in this and other areas. The discussions with Bonnier are to be seen in that context, said Telia in a statement.

According to sources, Telia wants to acquire Bonnier's broadcasting businesses which includes Swedish TV4, streaming service C More and Finnish MTV3.

March this year, Telia sold its stake in Azerbaijan mobile operator Azercell, which it co-owns with Turkcell, as part of its plan to exit from all seven countries in Eurasia – Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Nepal, Georgia and Moldova, and to swift its focus on its main markets in Nordic and Baltic countries.

As part of the swift, the Operator has acquired five local companies in 2017 alone which includes Propentus (Cyber Security), Data Logistics Center (Data Center Operator), Nebula (Cloud Service Provider) and C-SAM (Cable MSO).
