Singapore's StarHub is now Google’s exclusive telco retail partner for Google Home smart speakers in Singapore, Google Home and Google Home Mini, two years after its launch in the United States.
Google Home Mini is available free-of-charge to customers who sign up for StarHub’s new hubbing plan HomeHub Plus, which will offer a bundle of four StarHub services – 1Gbps fibre home broadband, up to 77 channels on fibre TV, home phone line and mobile broadband. HomeHub Plus customers can choose to upgrade to the larger Google Home for $SG 120 (Retail price: $SG 189).
Consumers interested in other StarHub plans can also net themselves a Google voice-enabled speaker at a discount when they remain or become a StarHub Mobile, Pay TV or Broadband subscriber.
To augment the smart home experience, Google Home owners can buy Wemo Switch smart plugs at $SG 59 each from StarHub. With hands-free help from the Google Assistant, they can easily control lights and home appliances using simple voice commands.
For enterprise customers, Google Home will be available free-of-charge as a launch promotion when they sign up for StarHub’s 1Gbps or 500Mbps Dynamic Business Fibre Broadband starting 1 May 2018.
Last year, Google brought its Google Wifi mesh router system to Asia via exclusive partnerships with Starhub and Hong Kong's HKT after first launching it in North America in end-2016.
