Following the official announcement of the proposed merger between Sprint and T-Mobile recently, U.S. MVNO FreedomPop launches UNREAL Mobile, a new company which will be targeting premium mobile customers.
UNREAL Mobile aims to launch a full service mobile plan in the coming months at the lowest price in the country, including unlimited plans that start at just $15 per month.
Unlike FreedomPop, which competes aggressively with pre-paid brands like Boost and Cricket and leverages VoIP and streamlined customer service, UNREAL will offer a full service premium product to compete directly with Sprint and T-Mobile's postpaid business.
In addition to the basic 4G LTE service, UNREAL also bundles a number of value added services including VPN for anonymity, built-in encryption, the ability to use your UNREAL number on any device (tablet, another phone, computer), and mobile ad blocking.
Leveraging FreedomPop’s MVNO-in-a-Box digital platform, UNREAL Mobile aims to launch within 90 days of the Sprint/T-Mobile merger announcement.

A year ago, there was no way Sprint would have allowed us to offer UNREAL. Today however, their hands are tied, as Sprint and T-Mobile are held up in regulatory approvals contingent on their ability to demonstrate that competition won't suffer.

More than half of Americans use less than the nationwide average of 1.6GB of data per month, yet are forced into expensive unlimited plans that cost upwards of $50 a month for data that goes unused.
