OTT Video

Over-the-Top (OTT) video service is an on-demand video service that is delivered via the Internet.

OTT video service differs from OTT TV service in that the former offers piece-meal content while the latter offers a complete line-up of content on a daily basis.

OTT video service can be accessed via web browsers, mobile apps or streamed via gaming consoles, special media players or set-top boxes that are able to stream IP-based content to traditional or non-connected viewing gadgets such as home TV sets.

OTT video services are available for free on crowd-sourced platforms such as Youtube, while for premium content such that is offered by Netflix, a subscription fee is paid for unlimited access to the providers' video library.

OTT video services are also provided on per-content basis where users pay only for the content they watch.

Subscribers can access OTT video content from any compatible Internet-connected device, and from anywhere, except in places where the service is disabled.
