As DTW23 - Ignite enters its second day, Ariana Lynn, Principal Analyst at The Fast Mode spoke to Angus Ward, CEO, Beyond Now.

Ariana: What products / solutions will Beyond Now be showcasing at DTW23? Can we expect to see any new launches?

Angus: DTW23’s dominant theme of how the telco and cloud worlds are colliding to drive new opportunities for growth is an exciting area for us. I will be there with my team at Booth Number 208 to talk about just that and how we are working with CSPs and technology partners to drive new opportunities for growth and to help them best maximize a ROI (5G, IoT, Edge and cloud infrastructure etc.), realize the value of ecosystem orchestration and demonstrate how our Infonova Digital Business Platform can accelerate reductions in OPEX and CAPEX.

One example of how we are supporting them with growth is through our collaboration with AWS. By being a platform partner of AWS’s ‘Integrated Private Wireless’ program, we can help CSPs accelerate 5G and network monetization. The program offers an easy-to-use portal underpinned by Beyond Now’s marketplace platform capabilities, that allows enterprises to explore private wireless offerings from participating CSPs. Enterprises can browse solutions based on their industry or specific use cases. Once they find a suitable solution, they can contact the CSP of their choice through the portal.

As for activities while we’re there, we’re excited about several!

We are hosting an exclusive spotlight session (invitation only but we welcome those interested in learning more) on the 20 September where attendees will uncover the benefits of becoming part of this Global B2B Consortium and learn first-hand how you can accelerate your portfolio development and grow your B2B revenue faster.

We will also be showcasing our unique SaaS-based Infonova Digital Business Platform (already being used by CSPs such as NTT, Telia, and BT) and demonstrating how platform business models can grow revenue, support customers journeys, remove internal silos and harness partners and technologies to develop new outcome-based solutions.

In addition, attendees will be able to discover more about how our collaboration with 40 other companies, including Vodafone, NTT and AWS, in the award-winning Digital Business Marketplace V (DBM5) catalyst has inspired the TM Forum to extend the ODA industry standard. The catalyst, designed to accelerate B2B2X partnering to aid the rapid deployment of multi-partner sourced secure industry 4.0 & Smart X solutions, leveraging Zero Trust and Zero Touch techniques, and its 40+ members have been a driving force behind IG1317. It acknowledges the critical capabilities which APIs provide to enable CSPs to become DSPs where existing business model offerings become digital for self-service.

Ariana: Are there any speaking opportunities that Beyond Now will be taking part in? What are some of key points that you plan to cover?

Angus: Beyond Now is exhibiting at the event this year and will be taking part in a number of speaking opportunities including:

Monetizing Platforms and Marketplaces for Growth

Expanding the B2B solution portfolio is pivotal in securing CSPs future growth….

What challenges do CSPs face and what is the role of partner ecosystems in this expansion? Angus Ward, CEO at Beyond Now will join Jayne Landry, SVP industry solutions at TELUS, for a fireside chat as they explore these topics in depth and establish the innovation behind the GB2BC as a cross-industry accelerator.

Date: Tuesday 19th September

Time: 14.00-15.30

Location: Impact Stage

Rethinking Partnerships to drive innovation

Angus Ward, CEO at Beyond Now, together with Mohammad Zoualfaghari, Global Technology Lead at AWS, will discuss how Hyperscalers can become an acceleration of 5G and network monetization, and how a marketplace model can help accelerate these partnerships between CSPs and Hyperscalers. Date: Tuesday 19th September Time: 14.00-15.30

Location: Stage D

Ariana: What are your thoughts on artificial intelligence (AI), specifically generative AI? Where is it heading?

Angus: The profit performance of major CSPs around the globe has been in gradual decline for the last 10 years. In 2022 alone, the global telecom market declined 9.7% in revenue. As the global economy continues to struggle with inflation, the pressure on telco budgets is increasing and is putting a strain on the industry’s profitability. One solution to this problem that the industry is talking about is AI, in fact, global AI in telecoms market is projected to reach $38.8 billion by 2031 according to Allied Market Research. From network optimization and cost reduction, to improving the customer experience, AI is seen as the silver bullet by many. Seeing the industry rally behind it is a good thing as I truly believe it's a game changer, however, what’s missing is a voice that deals with the core issue of CSPs, their need to grow revenue and their need to change their business model. AI can support but it can’t be in the driver’s seat. So, the question the industry and particularly CSPs need to ask themselves is, how is AI going to help them generate revenue? What’s their AI business model?

At Beyond Now we believe AI should just be one tool in a tool set CSPs should be using to not only reduce costs, but also solve their business problems by sharing insights and working with partners to co-create, co-sell and co-monetize solutions and generate revenue.

I am looking forward to discussing this topic with my peers and colleagues at the show.
