Vodafone UK on Wednesday announced that 4,500 Cambridge households will be able access its Gigafast Full Fibre Broadband service within the first three months of 2020.

Residents and small businesses in Cambridge are now receiving some of the fastest internet speeds in the UK, says the Operator.

With speeds of up to 900Mbps, Vodafone Gigafast Full Fibre Broadband gives users download speeds 20 times faster and upload speeds 150 times faster than the average home broadband connection in the UK. For example, this will allow the whole family to stream their favourite films, play online games or upload videos and photos across multiple devices with almost no time lag or buffering – all at the same time.

Vodafone Gigafast Full Fibre Broadband is live in Chesterton and Kings Hedges, and will be available in more places in Cambridge as CityFibre, the UK’s largest alternative provider of wholesale fibre network infrastructure, deploys the full fibre network over the next two years.

Max Taylor, Consumer Director, Vodafone UK
We are working with our infrastructure partner, CityFibre, to connect up homes across the city with the aim to offer more than 4,500 households access to the service within the first three months of 2020.
