Russia's MTS Acquires Regional Fixed-line Operator

MTS, Russia’s leading telecoms operator announced the acquisition of a 51% controlling stake in Zelenaya Tochka Group, a provider of broadband and digital TV services in a number of Russian regions.

Under the terms of the agreement, MTS retains a three-year call option to purchase the remaining 49% of Zelenaya Tochka’s share capital.

The Zelenaya Tochka group of companies comprises 13 connectivity operators operating under multiple brands across 12 Russian cities: Stavropol, Mikhaylovsk, Nevinnomyssk, Elista, Tambov, Belgorod, Lipetsk, Ufa, Neftekamsk, Beloretsk, Tomsk, and Vladivostok.
