Ooredoo Business last week announced its support to the Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi), a free service for all Ooredoo Kuwait customers with prepaid and postpaid voice plans, enabling them to make calls over a Wi-Fi connection and send short text messages.
VoWiFi will help solving weak smartphone signals and dropped calls in areas with poor coverage, such as high-rise residential buildings, basements, offices and remote branches, said the operator.
Once the smartphone picks up a reliable and secure Wi-Fi network, the call will be transferred between the phone network and the Wi-Fi network automatically smoothly and without any interruption of the call. In short, customers can use VoWiFi to make voice and video calls in any location that has a Wi-Fi network, even when there is no mobile network reception.
The service is available without any additional fees, while voice and internet calls will be charged according to the package, and without the need to download any application. On the business level, and with changing work styles due to COVID-19 pandemic, the VoWiFi service plays an effective role in helping companies in improving the business continuity and productivity in a cost-effective manner, as most employees work remotely and from their homes depending on the Internet, voice calls and video calls.
