Broadcom announced that it has completed its acquisition of Brocade, a leader in Fibre Channel storage area network switching and IP networking.

The deal set out to build a new type of networking company for the digital era, one that stretches from the core of the data center to the wireless edge, and that remakes the network into a platform for rapid service delivery and business innovation.

The US$5.9bn deal which was announced in November 2016, will see Brocade operating as an indirect subsidiary of Broadcom and will be led by Jack Rondoni as General Manager.

Previously, Rondoni served as Senior Vice President of Storage Networking at Brocade, having joined the company in 2006. Rondoni brings over 20 years of experience in storage, networking and technology.
