Vonovia, German residential real estate company, and Vodafone have announced that they are expanding their cooperation in delivering connectivity services to residential tenants. In July 2024, 120,000 additional residential units across Germany will have the opportunity to return to Vodafone's cable fiber optic network after many years. In the future, Vodafone will equip apartments from Vonovia's portfolio across Germany with high-speed Internet and TV services. The partners signed a corresponding agreement at Vonovia's headquarters in Bochum.

In recent years, the majority of the 120,000 apartments have been supplied with Internet via DSL technology from other network operators. Now tenants have the option to access the Internet via Vodafone's cable fiber optic network. Vonovia is currently in the process of informing tenants affected by the change about the exact time of the changeover and the new offers.

Marcel de Groot, CEO, Vodafone Germany

Together with Vonovia, we are now expanding our cooperation for tenants in this country: people in 120,000 rental apartments can now return to our gigabit network. This is a clear signal in the market: as a digitization partner for the housing industry, we have been bringing people reliable, fast internet and high-quality television for years - and we will continue to do so in the future. For an even better and future-proof digital supply of residential buildings, we are also building the most modern fiber optic connections in residential buildings for the housing industry with Germany's largest fiber optic alliance OXG, quickly and easily.
