Japanese company Yokowo announced that it has developed one of the world’s smallest class private 5G (Sub6) MIMO Antenna that can offer a fast and reliable dedicated 5G communication environment in specific areas, buildings, and premises, and will launch it in July, 2024.

Traditional Private 5G (Sub6) compatible antennas are designed specifically for Private 5G applications but in many cases, are relatively large. This new Yokowo antenna supports the frequency bands that correspond to Private 5G (besides focusing on Sub6), and takes advantage of Yokowo’s many years of technological know-how in the development and design of automotive antenna products, to maintain high performance, in the world's smallest class size.

This new Private 5G antenna meets the IP67 standard for dust and water resistance, making it ideal for use in outdoor environments. It is also less susceptible to radio interference, giving it greater installation location even on metal surfaces.

Private 5G can stably use high-speed, large-capacity, low-latency communications based on radio station licenses, and can flexibly set the required performance according to the application. Since SIM card authentication provides strong security, this new private 5G (Sub6) MIMO antenna is expected to be used for DX in various applications. Since it can transfer high-definition video in real time, it can also be used for remote monitoring of autonomous vehicles, construction machinery, and heavy machinery. It is believed that it can help solve labor shortages and improve productivity by using it for remote application control.

Due to its miniaturized size, it is ideal for small equipment such as drones, AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), and A(Automatic Guided Robots) in addition to automobiles, construction machinery, and heavy machinery. With its IP67-compliant performance, this antenna can be used indoors and outdoors in a variety of environments and applications.
