More operators are jumping onto the bandwagon to offer digital services to their subscribers. Subscribers benefit by being able to access and purchase their favourite content using their mobile subscription accounts without the hassle of maintaining separate payment accounts. They also benefit from being able to access a host of content in a single store. As operators leverage on their wide subscriber base and their extensive data network to tap into the digital services market, the need for integrated platforms that can host a wide array of content and manage billing and charging seamlessly is on the rise, creating a ready market for solutions in this segment.

Comarch, a player in this segment and a global supplier of IT products and services, has recently announced the successful implementation of their software package to empower the introduction of cloud services for T-Mobile Poland, one of the largest mobile networks in Poland. T-Mobile Poland provides the full range of telecommunication services and has recently pioneered mobile payment services using the NFC technology. According to Comarch, the main element of the solution, the Comarch Cloud Marketplace, integrates the operator’s own services with third party services and offers them online through a self-service portal. The solution comes together with a mobile application and a package of specialized modules of Comarch BSS, such as a central product catalog and an authorization system.

convergent billingCompanies already know that the cloud is not a technological revolution, but an evolution in using computer software. At the moment, over 30,000 of our clients are using cloud services. Cloud-based products have been a part of our offer for 12 years now, but in 2012 the sales of these solutions increased by over 30% in comparison with the previous year, - said Zbigniew Rymarczyk, Vice President, Director of the ERP Business Unit. – Companies are more willing to buy cloud services because it means benefiting from the latest IT software without having to make large investments. The barriers to entry and to exit are low, - added Zbigniew Rymarczyk.
