NTT, a leading IT infrastructure and services company, announced the opening of its newest and largest data center in Indonesia. Located in Bekasi 30 kilometers from the heart of Jakarta, the new Jakarta 3 Data Center offers expandable capacity that is designed to meet the requirements of hyperscalers and high-end enterprises to support the growing digital economy in Indonesia.

The country's digital traffic has increased exponentially as a result of the surge in electronic transactions, systems, and digital content during the global pandemic. When combined with the rapid growth of startup companies and the ever-increasing population, this increases demand for hyperscale data centers.

The data center footprint expansion in Indonesia is part of the ongoing growth strategy by NTT’s Global Data Centers division, which operates one of the largest data center platforms in the world. Indonesia is emerging as one of the region’s fastest growing markets for data center space as a result of resource availability and government policy.

The four-story data center has 15.2MW capacity of critical IT load and will grow to 45MW. It boasts a Tier IV ready compact and modular design to provide clients with flexible and scalable power. Its cooling wall system is the first of its kind, offering optimum power efficiency and cost-effective cooling to support high density up to 15kW/rack.

Equipped with two power plants that supply electricity via distinct routes, data center power facilities, air conditioning and security power supplies, and communication facilities are all designed with a redundant system to ensure continuous uptime and data reliability.

Our secure and versatile space features convenient amenities, such as the Lobby Lounge and ZEN Lounge – both of which are equipped with Pods for the comfort of visitors – meeting and conference rooms, and common areas, such as a break room and cafeteria.

Strict operational and security controls

Jakarta 3 Data Center has the most up to date monitoring system and a 24/7/365 monitoring team works to ensure the stable operation of clients’ IT systems, guarded by multiple tiers of security and a three-meter anti-climbing perimeter fence.

A fantastic network environment

NTT has installed major carrier cables with various routes inside the data center building. Clients will benefit from a variety of network services, including connectivity to major internet exchanges via our Jakarta 2 Data Center, high-speed, large-capacity IP communication service, and high-quality, high-reliability VPN services.

Mizuho Tada, President Director, NTT Ltd. Indonesia
The demand for data storage and managed hosting services is expected to grow dramatically across Indonesia. Jakarta 3 Data Center will accommodate the needs of clients, particularly cloud service providers and the financial industry, which require flexible facility designs to help them achieve their business objectives. NTT Indonesia already offers the Jakarta 2 Data Center, which attracts many service and content providers, and we can provide our local network services to and from our newly built Jakarta 3 Data Center.

Masaaki Moribayashi, President and Board Director for NTT
NTT views Asia Pacific as a key region, and Indonesia has become a strategic location with the new APRICOT submarine cable system. Jakarta 3 Data Center will drive business opportunities in Asia through the upcoming APRICOT cable system that will be operational in 2024, linking all our large-scale data centers in the region. Our continued commitment to Indonesia will help position NTT as a technologically innovative leader to address the industries of the future.
